The day started slow in anticipation of our bridge climb. Stavros used a little time to do some of these web pages.

We climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge at sunset, something we'd wanted to do since they talked about it during the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. And guess who led the climb! Tom! It was spectacular being way up there and watching the sunset, making a wish, and unexpectedly having a brilliant rainbow appear also. Unfortunately they put you in these jumpsuits (for safety reasons) with the zipper up the back (maybe for other reasons?) and didn't let you carry anything like a camera. Sooo... this is all we have to show for our day. Pictorially that is.

Dinner was greek. Dinner was sweetbreads at Diethnes Greek Restaurant one block north of our hotel. Walking back from the bridge climb we looked at the menu posted outside, complained about what was NOT on the appetizer menu, and walked in anyway. Great! Sweetbreads was a special that night (they do everything with fries over here for some reason). (hey Craig, sweetbreads, eat your heart out) They didn't have Mavrodaphne ("No, it's too sweet"), they didn't have Galactoboureko. They did have genuine greek coffee and they did have Rizogalo. A satisfying ending to our day. |
